In
early 2002 Suzanne become fond of the black variety
and decided to start her journey with a new color.
She searched for a pair of blacks which were hard
to come by in the state of CA. She acquired a black
male which she crossed back to a white silkie hen
to help improve characteristics. Why a white hen?
There were no black hens or pullets available locally
at that time. Since then we have been breeding black
to black to continue to improve color and have added
various lines along the way to strengthen and improve
the overall bird.
